Rwakobo Rock Lodge is one of the more affordable lodges in Lake Mburo National Park. It is located 1 km from the park’s Nshara Gate on a rock formation with scenic views of the wilderness. The lodge is quiet and tucked away, making it ideal for a romantic retreat or a weekend getaway.
The lodge has comfortable and spacious African-styled cottages, a shared house, and classic safari tents that are scattered around the granite rock. They are all very private, blend in perfectly with the natural landscape, and provide spectacular sunset views. The sounds of the bush come to life at night, allowing your imagination to run wild.
The main dining area has a view of the park’s wilderness and an expanse of rock. Here, the chef serves delicious food that has been freshly prepared. There is a wide range of cuisines to choose from including continental, Italian, and Indian dishes, as well as a buffet-style dinner.
If you plan to leave the lodge early, the chef will prepare an early breakfast and provide you with a packed lunch.
The restaurant is close to a water hole where animals come to drink water, so visitors can see them while eating. There is also a bar serving a variety of wines, spirits, beers, and soft drinks.

Rwakobo has a variety of easy and difficult walks. These allow you to get close to the bush on foot and capture the details of the wilderness at your own pace.
Excursions into the park during the day or at night are highly recommended to allow you to explore the park. Grab a bike and explore the sandy tracks outside the park if you want to put your adventurous muscles to the test.
Guests can also go on boat safaris on Lake Mburo to get close to hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birdlife. The birdlife in the park is abundant with many water birds giving you the chance to see even more birds.
Guests are taught about the local traditions and cultures of the Bahima people as part of the lodge standards to preserve their historical value. These are people who live in the surrounding areas of the park.
The lodge collaborates with a local family that resides nearby to provide guests with a glimpse into the life of Bahima.
